Aqua Care realizes that keeping your water balanced can be tricky

Whether you want us to handle the situation, or just come help when there's a problem Aqua Care can help. Our trained professionals test the water and make sure the PH, bromine or chlorine, total alkalinity, and calcium levels are all where they should be. We also several solutions that clean the water without chemicals, such as ozonators and ultraviolet lights, feel free to call for more information.
Water Chemistry
Balancing
The water in your tub or pool should be balanced regularly. This will optimize disinfections and keep your water looking and smelling good. Products available for raising or lowering Total Alkalinity will also effect the pH values. This is why the process is called water balancing.
Total Alkalinity (TA)
Perform a Total Alkalinity test and adjust the first range to be 80-120ppm (parts per million). Add TA Up ( or Baking Soda) 1oz at a time to raise the TA. Add PH Down 1 Tablespoon at a time to lower the TA.
Acidity (PH)
The pH range should be 7.4 - 7.6. This is the optimum range for chlorine or bromine. pH is effected by many parameters - a single human body in the water or a couple of dead leaves will effect the pH. To lower the pH add 1 Tablespoon of DRY ACID (or pH Down) at a time between retesting. To raise the pH add pH Rise (or Baking Soda if the TA is under 80 ppm)
Calcium Hardness
This is an element of your water that cannot be lowered by chemical additives but can be increased when necessary. 100-150ppm makes the water easier to balance. Add 1oz of Calcium Hardness when you are filling the tub / pool - and add a little later if you are adding water. If hardness is high, anti-scaling additives may be necessary and pH must be strictly corrected. When Calcium Hardness is too high reduce water in the tub / pool and add new water without adding calcium hardness - thereby diluting it.
